unbeaten 5 Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education for work with the aeronautical and
automotive industries; support for developing countries, for a pioneering role in developing applications of

Loughborough has long-standing collaborative links with many blue-chip companies. We also have the
highest spin-out rate relative to research funding of any UK university and now provide space for up to 45
start-up businesses on campus. The Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is one of
the largest departments at Loughborough University and has an excellent research record (grade 5 RAE
rating). It also currently hosts the UK's largest Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre with funding of
more than £18M over 5 years from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
